Marché Classes
We love talking about great cheese almost as much as we love eating it. So what a perfect way for us to spread the love (and the curd) – our ongoing series of classes designed to widen your appreciation for all things fromage. Appropriate for the novice to the cheese whiz, our classes are structured yet informal and include class outline, tasting notes and plenty of cheese and wine.

Cancellations must me made within 72 hours of the class in order to be refunded. We will do our best to fill seats from our waitlist.

MARCHÉ ABCs of CHEESE SERIES
With so many cheeses available today, it can be overwhelming to steer your way through a cheese counter or a restaurant menu. Our ABCs of Cheese Series will provide everything you need to know about cheese and give you the chance to ask all those pressing cheese questions you have. Our team of passionate and knowledgeable cheesemongers will lead each class in an informative yet casual setting designed for the beginner and the aficionado alike. Sign up for one class or opt for the whole series and save. You’ll sample a wide variety of cheeses and accoutrements, enjoy beverage pairings, and learn how to navigate the cheese counter with confidence and prepare the ultimate cheese board.

In this first session, we’ll explore seven principle cheese styles - their history, production and characteristics, different milk sources from cow, goat and sheep to water buffalo, how to taste like a pro, plus key factors when evaluating a great cheese.

BUYING, SERVING AND STORING CHEESE - Wednesday, 4/8/2026, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Let our team of cheesemongers guide you through the steps of designing your cheese boards with artistry and ease. We’ll look at cheese selections, how much to buy, accompaniments, and presentation possibilities - from grazing boards and after-dinner plates to an inspired lunch or dinner.

CHEESE PAIRING - Wednesday, 5/20/2026, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
We’ll wind up the series examining our basic pairing principles to lift up your cheese experiences. Whether you favor beer or wine, charcuterie or chocolate, olives or apples, our pros will give you their best advice for making the most of your selections and unlocking memorable matches.

Alpine-style cheeses, hardy classics made to withstand long winters, are the base for comforting fondues, raclette and gratins, and are equally delicious on a cheese board. We’ll learn about and taste our way through a range of Old and New World versions and then indulge in some gooey, melted treats sure to warm your heart. Wine and beer service included.

We’re setting the mood for Valentine's Day with our “fromage a trois” – cheese and wine paired with artisan chocolate. Our neighbors, Stam Chocolaterie, will join us with a curated selection of their European-style bonbons passionately paired with Marché cheeses and wines. You just may end up with a few new loves in your life.

Geneva’s Art History Brewing, a standout in the local craft beer scene, produces some of our favorite cheese friendly brews. Don Butts from the brewery will guide us through a tasting of some of Art History’s top picks that blend tradition and creativity, and of course, we’ll provide the perfect cheese partners to accompany the suds.

“Wine is poetry in a bottle.” Many of our best writers spent quite a bit of time drinking and thinking about wine. Join us for an evening of wine tasting through the lens of our favorite authors, as they describe the indescribable and teach us to slow down and savor life. Cheese pairings included.

SMACKDOWN: BEER VS. WINE - Tuesday, 4/21/2026, 7:30 - 9:00 pm
When it comes to pairing beverages with cheese, we are a house divided. Take a ringside seat as we present our defense of the brew against our affinity for the vine. We’ll pour one beer and one wine for each of the six cheese selections while the mongers make their case for which beverage reigns. Then you’ll be the referee and help crown the winner for the evening’s showdown.

MOMS’ NIGHT OUT - Tuesday, 5/5/2026, 7:30 - 9:00 pm
Join us for a spring fling thing as we honor Moms with our favorite seasonal wines and cheeses from our favorite women producers. Gather your moms, your mom BFFs, and anyone who is like a mom to you as we celebrate Mothers Day Marché-style.
